WPBA Peoria 2005 Event Diary

Well, after messing around with my stance for about a year, and playing like a novice, as a result, I decided to go back to what felt comfortable. This turned out to be a good decision.

Although I would have liked to have finished higher, I enjoyed pool again and played quite well.

My first match was against Debbie Schjodt. Debbie is a great player, and I knew I had to play well to win. Thankfully I did, only to come up against the Quiet Storm, known to many as Jeannie Seaver. Again I played well, knowing I couldn't give her many chances.

Round 3 and Kelly Fisher. I can only say this because Kelly is a very good friend of mine, but she was lucky.(only joking)  I played well again but missed maybe a handful of shots. That's a handful too many against a player of Kelly's caliber as Kelly put me to the west side.

My next match was against Megan Minerich, which I took all my chances to make it to the last 16.

Because I was in the one loss bracket, I was to be drawn against any one who was still in the winner's bracket.

I had the unenviable task of playing Kelly again. Again I played well and capitalized on her uncharacteristic mistakes to go through to the TV rounds.

Drawn against Monica, I knew I had to continue playing well and above all enjoy myself.

I did neither and my wheels fell off.

.So. Not a bad tourney considering the rubbish I played the 12 months or so before and looking forward to The US Open.
